You might not know anything about plastic injection molding, but students at Davis Applied Technology College are now learning all about this quickly expanding field, thanks to funding from Workforce Services.
The Ogden Standard-Examiner reports on the program:
“Recognizing the need for more trained workers in this field, the Utah Cluster Acceleration Partnership (UCAP), involving the Department of Workforce Services, the Utah System of Higher Education, and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, awarded DATC a $250,000 grant to develop the program and train Utah students for jobs in this fast-growing industry.”
This is one of many grants funded by this partnership (we’ve administered $2 million dollars to education programs throughout Utah in the past year alone). Our focus is to be responsive to the needs of industry for qualified workforce by aligning education outcomes with those needs.
