Local Employers Honored for Going the Extra Mile to Hire People with Disabilities



Four local businesses and one advocate empowering individuals with disabilities were honored with Golden Key Awards presented by the Utah Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities and the Department of Workforce Services, Utah State Office of Rehabilitation on October 24 at the Governor’s Mansion.

Utah's Employment Summary: August 2017



Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for August 2017 grew by an estimated 2.8 percent, adding 39,900 jobs to the economy since August 2016. Utah’s current employment level registers 1,465,100.


August’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged from the prior month at 3.5 percent. Approximately 54,600 Utahns were unemployed during the month and actively seeking work. Utah's Employment Summary: July 2017



Utah’s employment for July 2017 grew by an estimated 2.9 percent, adding 41,300 jobs to the economy since July 2016. Utah’s current employment level registers 1,460,200.


July’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.5 percent. Approximately 54,500 Utahns were unemployed during the month and actively seeking work. The national unemployment rate decreased one-tenth of a percentage point from June to 4.3 percent. More...
