With Memorial Day approaching, we at Workforce Services are grateful for the sacrifices made by America's service men and women, especially veterans here in Utah.
Our department is proud to support Utah Veterans, actively drilling members of the Guard and
Reserve and their respective spouses by offering a range of employment services. Our veterans employment specialists can help eligible veterans and spouses get additional training and certificates to start a new career, and help employers find qualified veteran to hire, and a lot more. In 2015 alone, our dedicated Workforce Services employees helped more than 10,000 veterans find jobs and careers.
We are proud to have played a part in reducing Utah's veteran unemployment rate from 7.4% in 2013 to 2.6% in 2015 - that puts us fifth in the nation in decreasing Veteran unemployment.
As a department, we are honored to serve those who served our country. Learn more about how veterans, Guard and Reserve members and spouses can get help with employment and careers at jobs.utah.gov.
