United States Department of Labor (DOL) National Emergency Grants (NEGs)
funded with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 Resources
$200 M
Announced through Training and Employment Guidance
Letter (TEGL) on April 30, 2009
Open for solicitation May 11, 2009 / No deadline date
To be eligible for a National Emergency Grant after
July beginning on July 1st, 2009, an applicant will have to have shown that
theyve drawn down at least 70 percent of their available program year 2008
dislocated formula funds and 50 percent of the PY2008 funds that you received
as a result of the Recovery Act. Again, this is the reason for this is
to make sure that funds are being expended as quickly and efficiently as
possible as far as your formula resources go before additional resources are
made available to you.
The only exception to this particular policy is for the formula funds
replenishment NEG which requires states or local areas to have expended 95
percent of their appropriated and Recovery Act resources to be eligible for
that particular grant vehicle.
