Salt Lake City – The Utah Commission on Marriage has selected
couples to be honored at the 14th annual Utah Celebration of Marriage to be
held on Saturday, February 4 from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Cottonwood High
School. The address is 5715 S. 1300 E. in Murray, Utah.
This year, couples were nominated in three categories: Gold Medal Marriages,
Longest Married Couples, and Valorous Military Marriages.
Gold Medal Marriages exemplify durability, diligence, and devotion above and
beyond the ordinary.
Longest Marriage Couples are Utah couples that have been married 70 years or
longer.
Valorous Military Marriages are marriages that despite thousands of miles of
separation can thrive and be strengthened.
Please refer to the list of winners attached to this release. Governor Jon M.
Huntsman, Jr. and First Lady Mary Kaye Huntsman will offer welcoming remarks
and will present the awards.
The event also includes keynote addresses by Dr. John M.R. & Jane Covey,
and Bob & Diane Evans, workshops and dancing to music by the Ken Foster
