DWS Offers Returning Veterans “Keys to Career Success”

Salt Lake City – The Department of Workforce Services is celebrating the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday to draw attention to the services it offers Utah’s Veterans. Veterans are valuable members of the American workforce and contribute critical skills to our nation’s economic future. The Division of Veterans Affairs, The Department of Labor and the Department of Workforce Services have teamed up to provide a new tool to insure that veterans and soon to be separated active duty military personnel have access to the career tools they need to find and obtain good jobs with good wages and career pathways when they return home. It’s called the Key to Career Success.

In accordance with a nationwide campaign with the Department of Labor in collaboration with the Department of Defense, the campaign is designed to heighten veterans’ awareness of the many services available in the one stop employment centers and help ensure priority of services to veterans for their successful transition into civilian life and employment.

The men and women who have served our country can be a valuable asset to employers with jobs to fill.

To learn about training programs, re-training programs, or just to connect to employers looking to hire a veteran, contact the Department of Workforce Services.

To find the nearest Employment Center check the State Government Section of your local phone directory under “Workforce Services” or on the Web at jobs.utah.gov and follow the Services to Veterans link.
