SALT LAKE CITY – The State of Utah is proud to announce
the winners of the 2007 Utah Work/Life Awards. For the ninth consecutive year,
the State is recognizing and honoring companies that are creating exceptional
workplaces and businesses by effectively addressing employee work/life needs.
The awards will be presented to companies in three categories based on size:
Micro, Medium and Large businesses. Micro businesses are companies with fewer
than 50 employees, Medium businesses have 50 to 500 employees, and large companies
have more than 500 people working for them.
The Work/Life Awards honor employers that listen to employees and strive to
create and maintain a culture of equity and opportunity in the workplace. The
Award showcases best practices and promotes their implementation in the business
community. As the applicant pool has grown over the years, so has the creativity
and ingenuity of businesses and business leaders.
The 2007 winning companies are: (Micro Category) DoxTek, Inc., Utah Foster
Care Foundation; (Medium Category) Digital Draw Network, Futura Industries,
Intermountain Financial Group/Mass Mutual, Nicholas & Company, Redmond Inc.,
Roofers Supply, The Leavitt Group; (Large Category) 1-800-CONTACTS, America
First Credit Union, ARUP Laboratories, Citi Cards, Mountain America Credit Union,
Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, and US Synthetic Corporation.
“Our ninth year was an exciting one, with many new applicants from around
the state,” said Lynette Rasmussen, Director of the Department of Workforce
Services’ Office of Work & Family Life. “It’s great to
see how this award is furthering the conversation about exceptional workplaces
in Utah. We’ve got past and present winners working together, to share
best practices and improve the daily lives of thousands of Utahns. These companies
are leaders in Utah—they set the example, and we’re delighted to
be honoring them at the Work/Life Awards Celebration.”
The winners will be honored at the Work/Life Awards Celebration luncheon on
April 5th, 2007, at the Sheraton City Centre in Salt Lake City. This event,
both the workshops and luncheon, is open to the public, and all individuals
