SALT LAKE CITY – The Department of Workforce Services is
proud to honor the winners of the 2007 Utah Work/Life Awards at the 2007 Utah
Work/Life Awards Celebration. The event will be held Thursday, April 5, 2007,
at the Sheraton City Centre Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. Governor Jon M.
Huntsman, Jr., will present the awards, and business leaders from around the
state will enjoy four cutting-edge, educational work/life workshops. Doors open
at 9:30 a.m., workshops start at 10:00 a.m., and the lunch celebration where
the Governor will present the awards begins at 12:00 p.m.
Workshops will focus on the following topics: Corporate Child Care as an Asset;
Exceptional Workplace Makeovers; Personality Profiles - Achieving Peak Performance;
and The Business Case for Flexible Work Arrangements.
For the ninth consecutive year, the department will recognize companies that
are creating exceptional workplaces and businesses by effectively addressing
employee work/life needs. The Work/Life Awards honor employers that listen to
employees and strive to create and maintain a culture of equity and opportunity
in the workplace. The Award recognizes best practices and promotes their implementation
in the business community. The Awards Celebration is a great opportunity for
winners, runners up, and other businesses to share those best practices and
work toward continual improvement.
