State Opens Work/Life Award Nominations for 2008
Utah’s Best Places to Work
Salt Lake City – For the tenth consecutive year, the State
of Utah will recognize and honor companies that are creating exceptional workplaces
and businesses by effectively addressing employee work/life needs. The state
is now accepting nominations for the 2008 Utah Work/Life Awards.
Whether a company is small or large, for-profit or non-profit, has vast resources
available or relies on a few dedicated employees to get the job done, this award
will honor the workplaces that best listen to their specific employees and strive
to create a culture of equity and opportunity. As competition for the award
has increased over the past decade, and the applicant pool has expanded, the
creativity and ingenuity of businesses and business leaders has also grown.
“Businesses have learned the wisdom of incorporating work/life initiatives
into their corporate culture and everyday operations, as they reap the benefits
of those investments in their workforce,” said Lynette Rasmussen, Director
of Utah’s Office of Work & Family Life, Utah Department of Workforce
Services. “The best practices learned and shared through the award process
have a positive impact on Utah’s economy, businesses, communities, families
and quality of life.”
All Utah companies are eligible to participate in the 2008 Utah Work/Life Awards.
Individuals may nominate their own company or any other Utah company that they
think should be recognized as one of Utah’s best places to work. Awards
will be presented at the annual Work/Life Celebration this summer.
Award nominations are being accepted from January 15 to February 15. The nomination
form, online application details and information on past winners may be found
by going to www.jobs.utah.gov and clicking on “2008 Work/Life Awards.”
