DWS Presents Workshop on Hiring Refugees

SALT LAKE CITY - The Department of Workforce Services will be conducting a free workshop for employers to learn about the advantages of hiring members of Utah’s refugee population.

The workshop will be held Tuesday March 11, 2008 from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 A.M. at the Department of Workforce Services administrative offices located at 1385 South State Street, Room 157 in Salt Lake City.

The workshop will cover such topics as:

• Refugee Overview & Demographics
• Employment & Hiring Practices
• I-9 Requirements
• Appropriate Documentation
• Worksite Enforcement

The workshop is sponsored by the Central Region Council on Workforce Services and there is no cost to attend.
