New Occupational Wage Data Available from DWS

Salt Lake City – The latest wage data for more than 600 Utah occupations is now available from the Department of Workforce Services (DWS). It is available in a searchable and downloadable database online at http://jobs.utah.gov/jsp/wi/utalmis/gotoOccwage.do

Wage information includes inexperienced, average, median, and middle range of wages by occupational title, and is available for the state and nine geographic areas:

“In times like these when many Utahns are unemployed and looking for work, accurate information about the labor market is critical,” says Stacey Joos, Director of DWS’s Labor Market Information unit. “Knowing the wage levels of different occupations can help job seekers make informed choices about where to focus their job search efforts.”

Occupational wage data is produced through the Department of Workforce Services’ Occupational Employment Statistics program in cooperation with the Bureau of Labor Statistics. For a comprehensive methodology description visit http://www.bls.gov/OES/
