Subject:  October 13 SWIB Meeting Canceled   

State Workforce Investment Board members:

I appreciate your commitment to improve Utah’s workforce.  We are working on key initiatives to support the State’s employment, education and economic development goals.  In looking at the many changes we’ve made to improve SWIB operations and consistent with my commitment to using your time and expertise wisely, I’ve concluded there are still some important ground work to accomplish before we hold our next general meeting.  Therefore, I’m canceling the October 13 general meeting.   We will continue per our plan to hold the January 12 general meeting.

Meanwhile, I’m calling the Executive Committee together to continue preparation and planning work on the following issues: 

• SWIB membership
• Sub-committee structures, roles, and membership
• Key SWIB performance measures
• Strategic priorities matrix
• State plan deliverables   

I will keep you informed on our progress and issues as they arise.  

Please note that the State Youth Council meeting will be held as planned on October 13 at 8:00 a.m.
