Union Pacific Railroad & Salt Lake Community College

This award-winning model partnership reinforces several railroad training programs and a newly developed A.S. degree in railroad operations.   Thousands of employees have already been trained at SLCC.  Company officials say the partnership helps the railroad be more competitive, keep up with new technologies and increase productivity.

Resulting from this partnership is a state-of-the-art training center built on the Redwood Road Campus.  It was built with $5.1 million and a 10-year revenue bond which is guaranteed and amortized by the Union Pacific Railroad, and an appropriation of $10 million from the Utah Legislature.
