University Internships are an opportunity for employers to have either graduate or undergraduate students from various university departments come into their organizations to help improve programs, processes, customer service and key business outcomes.
University Internships provide the employer with a valuable resource at a reasonable cost while providing the student with work experience related to their major field of study which will enhance their opportunities for full time employment upon graduation.
University Internships are generally negotiated between intern and employer to establish an understanding on work assignments, wage, and time commitment. Students should receive challenging and productive internship projects, and be provided with guidance and mentoring fro m a committed supervisor. If the student has registered for academic credit, their supervisor will be required to submit an evaluation to the university at least once during the course of the internship.
