Educational Opportunities

Salt Lake Community College offers several 12-18 month Certificate Programs as well as 24-month Associate Degrees programs in the following areas:

• Associates of Applied Science Degree in Video
• Associate of Applied Science Degree in Film Production Technician
• Associate of Applied Science Degree in Visual Art and Design with an emphasis in:
  • Animation
  • Design
  • Illustration
  • Multimedia or
  • Photography
• Certificate of Proficiency Web Graphic Design
• Certificate of Completion Visual Art and Design - Electronic Publishing
• Certificate of Proficiency Visual Art and Design  -Motion Graphic & Visual Effects

In addition to a Free Digital Arts education students will also be provided with:

• Career workshop opportunities
• Academic advising to assist with course selection
• Portfolio reviews from professionals working in the digital arts field
• Financial aid assistance

Details

Training is full time with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and year round attendance.

Who Qualifies?

You may qualify if you have a High School Diploma or GED and you are a US citizen or legally admitted alien
AND -

• Have been laid off or terminated with in the last 24 months
• Have received or applied for Unemployment Insurance
• Were self-employed and are now unemployed because of economic conditions
• Or are a displaced homemaker

OR if you –

• Are a youth between the ages of 16-24
• Receive or have received DWS assistance within the last 6 months
• Or have a low-income status
• Or are homeless or in foster care

OR if you –

• Are currently employed in the Digital Arts industry but require a skills update to remain in your current position or to advance your career.
