The State Dislocated Worker Unit (DWU) provides early intervention assistance known to employers as (Pre-layoff Assistance) and workers (Rapid Response Services) facing layoff or closure situations. The DWU is the entity which receives notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), the 60-day advance notice to mass layoff and/or plant closure, and Petitions for Reemployment Services under the Trade Act.
