DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAM |
|
You may be a dislocated worker if you have been permanently laid off, or have received a notice of termination or layoff from employment, and may qualify for federal, State and local career services.
DWS Employment Centers provide three types of reemployment services that are potentially available to a dislocated worker; Core, Intensive and Training. All job seekers are eligible for core services. Intensive and training services have eligibility and case management requirements. Workers who may qualify for these services are:
Laid-off workers with outdated skills;
Workers who lost their jobs due to increased imports or shift in production outside this country;
Self-employed individuals unemployed as a result of economic conditions;
Workers dislocated by a mass layoff and/or plant closure.
Workers profiled when filing for Unemployment Insurance as likely to exhaust their benefits.
