Child Care

Once you have returned the required forms and we have found that you may receive child care payments, we will pay you.

It will then be up to you to pay your child care provider.

To avoid problems, please pay your provider as soon as you receive the payment from us.

You will receive payment in one of two ways depending on the type of provider you have chosen.

If you are using a license-exempt provider (such as a relative) you will receive a two-party check.

• You will receive a check in the mail at the beginning of each month you receive child care help.
• The check will be made payable to you and your child care provider.
• You will need to sign the check and give it to your provider. He or she will sign it and put it in his or her bank account.
• Keep a copy of the receipt for your records.

If you are using a licensed provider, you will receive your child care assistance on your Utah Horizon Card “child care” account. Your provider will connect with this account through the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system.
