Family Medicaid (FM-O)
Family Medicaid (FM-o) covers low income families with children, including
children who live with a relative (like a grandmother).
How to Qualify:
Your gross income (before taxes) must not be more than
the Family Medicaid (FM-O) income
limit for your family size.If you pass the gross income test we then look at your
income with certain deductions taken out, such as a $90 work allowance, and
child care expenses.The children must lack at least one parent's support
due to one of the following:
DeathAbsenceInability to workPrimary Wage Earner (the parent who earned the most in the last 2 years) is
unemployed or working less than 100 hours a month.
You must be below the asset limit:
1 person - $2,0002 people - $3,000Each additional person add $25
Transitional Benefits:
If you receive Family Medicaid (FM-O) and your income goes over the income
limit, you may be able to get more months of Family Medicaid: up to 4 months if
the income increase was caused by child support and up to 24 months if it was
caused by earned income.
