Licensed or license exempt providers who care for state subsidized children must have an account set up in order to receive payments. Payments are received through Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) and are directly deposited into their bank account by the parent or through leasing a Point of Sale (POS) machine.
Providers must call the Child Care Provider Helpline (866) 435-7414 or in the Salt Lake City area (801) 313-4600 to set up an account. Select option 7 and then option 2.
Child care providers who care for state subsidized children are not employees of the Department of Workforce Services. DWS does not provide 10-99’s or report provider payments to the IRS. Child care providers must report payments to the IRS, as they would with any non-state subsidized child care payment. Please contact your tax preparer for specifics.
