Payment-To-Parent Child Care Assistance
Update:
Programming has been completed to create a separate "child care only"
electronic account on the Utah Horizon system for parents receiving child care
assistance. Payments will ONLY be able to be accessed for child care.
Payments may be transferred the same day the benefits are available on the
parent's Utah Horizon Card. Funds will be deposited directly into the provider's
bank account and should be accessible within three business days.
Payments may be accessed electronically in two ways:
- A provider may lease a point of sale (POS) machine
for $18 a month. (This fee includes a service agreement in case of any
problems with equipment or changes in the future.) A parent will swipe his/her
Utah Horizon Card through the machine and the money will transfer directly to
the provider's bank account. A receipt will be printed.
- The parent can transfer money to the provider over the telephone using an
Interactive Voice Response System (IVR). The funds are deposited directly into
the provider's bank account. This is similar to bank transactions done over
the telephone. Providers must give the customer their provider ID number
(which will be assigned to them) to complete the transaction. This option is
free. Providers will be responsible to write their own receipt for the parent.
