Workforce Investment Act
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a federally funded program that provides supportive and training services to eligible and appropriate customers. In the State of Utah, the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) administers the WIA program. There are three categories of WIA:
- WIA Adult - Age 18+, citizen or eligible non-citizen, low income
- WIA Dislocated Worker - Dislocated from employment, citizen or eligible non-citizen
- WIA Youth - Age 14-21, citizen or eligible non-citizen, low income
