Utah's Department of Workforce Services partners with Moab employer  to hire and train local talent

MOAB, UT (July 16, 2018) — The Utah Department of Workforce Services has partnered with The Synergy Company to offer an on-the-job training program to prepare individuals for careers in the manufacturing industry. The Synergy Company, located in Moab, Utah, is world-renowned for its certified organic facility specializing in the organic health supplement industry.

Participants in this program receive paid on-the-job training in the manufacturing industry, support from a peer group, soft skills training, manufacturing industry certifications, and employment supportive services from Workforce Services’ professional staff.

"This partnership is the perfect program for people who are just starting their career, looking to change careers, or who need a fresh start," said Kelly Thornton, Southeast Service Area Manager at Workforce Services. "We can find a fit for almost anyone, and especially want to invite people without a high school diploma or with a criminal background to give us a call."

Upon successful completion, participants will receive full-time employment along with a full benefits package. Most positions begin with a minimum of $15 per hour. Participants must be 18 years old or older and be able to commit to 40 hours a week for work and training. Income eligibility requirements will be determined upon application.

Three information sessions will be held at the Workforce Services employment center located at 457 Kane Creek Blvd., Moab, Utah:

• Thursday, July 19 at 3 p.m.
• Monday, July 23 at 7 p.m.
• Wednesday, July 25 at 10 a.m.
