Intergenerational Welfare Reform Commission

In 2012, the Utah Legislature adopted the Intergenerational Poverty Mitigation Act. This Act created the Intergenerational Welfare Reform Commission, requiring the Department of Workforce Service to combine forces with other state agencies to measurably reduce the incidence of children who remain in poverty, as they become adults. This goal will be achieved by focusing in the areas of early childhood development, education, economic stability and health.
