Provider Payment Information

Once you have returned the required forms and we have found that you are eligible to receive a Child Care subsidy, the payment will be made directly to your chosen provider at the beginning of each month.

Your provider will receive the Child Care payment by direct deposit to a financial institution of the provider’s choice or by check if the provider cannot obtain a financial account for direct deposit.

It is your responsibility to ensure the child care payment is made to the correct provider for the approved month of service.

To avoid problems, please report timely when care has stopped or there are any changes in your selected provider.

When child care is provided in the child's home less than 24 hours per day, the child care provider is considered an employee of the parent or guardian. The child care provider must be at least 18 years old and not a member of the family's physical household. The parent must contact the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for information related to tax liability and obtain an Employer Identification Number (EIN). The parent, as an employer, is responsible for all taxes and withholding and for paying minimum wage.

DWS is not an employer. Subsidy payments may not cover the entire cost of care. The IRS may be contacted at www.IRS.gov or by telephone at 1-800-829-4933 regarding tax requirements.
