Homelessness Annual Report Dashboard

The Annual Data Dashboard on Homelessness is Utah’s comprehensive yearly analysis of the state's homeless system and the individuals experiencing homelessness. This dashboard has taken the place of the previously printed annual reports. Start by reading the Executive Summary and Key Findings, then explore the dashboard for more detailed information.

Homeless System Performance - Performance measures help evaluate the effectiveness of Utah’s homeless crisis response systems as they work to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief and non-recurring.

About this Dashboard - This dashboard will be updated annually as new System Performance Measures (SPM), Housing Inventory Count (HIC), and Point-in-Time Count (PIT) data becomes available. Published annually, this data provides performance outcome statewide results. Data from all homeless service providers and housing projects that participate in the Utah Homeless Management Information System (UHMIS) are included in Utah’s Office of Homeless Services reporting. The dashboard is powered by Tableau.

*Please note, Utah’s Office of Homeless Services now reports on the calendar year rather than the federal fiscal year. This change was made in order to make the data more relevant and timely to Utah and the work of its Local Homeless Councils (LHC). As a result, this data cannot be combined or directly compared to data for federal fiscal years published in previous reports.

Data Included in this Dashboard

The Utah Annual Data Dashboard on Homelessness incorporates various data from the System Performance Measures (SPM), Housing Inventory Count (HIC), and Point-in-Time Count (PIT). Each of these reports focuses on a different aspect of homelessness and the services intended to address it, and their varied methodologies come with unique strengths and limitations. By examining these reports together, we gain a more comprehensive understanding of the nature and extent of homelessness and the availability and impact of the homeless response system in Utah. This dashboard includes data at multiple levels, including the State, Continuum of Care (CoC), Local Homeless Councils (LHC), and county levels, allowing for a detailed analysis of homelessness trends across different geographic areas.
