Refugee Coordinated Case Management

Overview

Refugee coordinated case management (RCCM) services connect refugees with resources to

improve their self-sufficiency and integration in Utah. RCCM is provided by the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Catholic Community Services (CCS), and the Asian Association of Utah (AAU). The IRC and CCS serve refugees who have newly arrived to the U.S. while AAU serves secondary migrants. The Refugee Services Office oversees case management contracts with each organization and conducts assessments to identify strengths and needs.

All refugee clients over the age of 18 are assessed on arrival and again at 6 and 12 months. At 6 months, it is expected that 70 percent of the clients assessed will meet expectations (receive a 3 or above) for the following areas: Employment, Housing, Education and Training, and Health. Ninety percent are expected to meet expectations for the following two areas: Community and Family Support and Life Skills. Forty percent are expected to meet expectations for the remaining area: Language and Cultural Knowledge.

At 12 months, it is expected that 80 percent of the clients assessed will meet expectations (receive a 3 or above) for the following areas: Employment, Housing, and Health. Ninety percent are expected to meet expectations for the following two areas: Community and Family Support and Life skills. Forty percent are expected to meet expectations for Language and Cultural Knowledge; seventy percent are expected to meet expectations for Education and Training.
