The state Extended Benefits program (EB) that triggered on June 28th is scheduled to trigger off as of September 26. This means no additional benefits will be paid on EB for weeks after September 26th. Please note that this stoppage of benefits only impacts the EB program; the CARES act extension will not be impacted.
President Trump signed four Presidential Memorandums on Aug. 8, 2020, including one to offer enhanced unemployment insurance benefits of $300 per week. Utah has been approved for six weeks, July 26 - Sept 05. For details on who is eligible and when the additional benefit will be available, click here.
Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation- If your benefits have exhausted or your benefit year has expired, you will need to select “File New or Reopen Claim” to complete a claims application. The system will determine if you are eligible for an extension or a traditional Unemployment Insurance claim.
Pandemic Unemployment Assistance- This is a temporary federal program for individuals not eligible for traditional unemployment benefits. Some individuals who may be eligible include those who are self-employed or gig economy workers. See the CARES Act FAQ for other examples.
