Annual Income and Wages by County

Wages and income are among the best determinants of future consumer demand and when adjusted for inflation, they are important measures of well-being. When people have more disposable income, they tend to spend more money, and since consumer demand represents nearly 70 percent of GDP, growing income signals a growing economy. Wages include pay from employers and are the largest component of total income, while income includes other sources such as dividends, interest, and rental income. These data come from multiple sources (see footnote) and are updated annually.
