Local Insights - County Snapshots

Snapshots are a comprehensive look at a county's economy and its performance. Job counts are the primary measure, but additional economic variables are included to offer additional insight. Job counts are profiled down to the industry level. The local economies are placed in juxtaposition against the Utah and U.S. economies for reference.

Employment-wise, county economies are composed of multiple industry groups. The size of industry groups is measured by the number of people employed by that industry group. Changes to an industry group can be measured by either the numeric change or the percent change. Percent change offers a better way to compare change within small industries to change in big industries.
