Appy to Become a Utah Interpreter
There are two ways to become an interpreter in Utah. You can take and pass a Utah Certification, or you can have a certification/assessment from another organization recognized. See Certification Types for more information on what certifications/assessments can be recognized. For either option, you will use your UIP account to schedule testing or request recognition.
Certification Exam Fees
All exam fees are non-refundable. Candidates who are unable to attend their appointment may reschedule if another appointment is available. Candidates who do not reschedule or cancel at least one week prior to their appointment will forfeit the examination fees and will need to pay a new exam fee if they choose to take the exam in the future. Additionally, candidates who do not show up for their scheduled exam will forfeit the examination fee.
