Purpose
The Department of Workforce Services (DWS) requests grant applications that will allow organizations to provide support to TANF eligible families to assist them in navigating the transition from receiving public assistance to self-reliance. Services provided are intended to identify a framework of interventions that better empower Utahns on public assistance who at times constrain their earned income due to fear of triggering “benefits cliffs,” to confidently pursue and accept opportunities for work and other forms of economic progression.
Eligibility Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Collaboration between multiple agencies/organizations is encouraged; however, a lead agency must be identified.
- Have a background in serving low-income families and providing services that assist them in becoming self-sufficient.
- If applicants are a current or former TANF grant recipient, outcome targets for all department contracts in the previous 3 years must have been met.
Who May Apply
- The following are encouraged to apply: local governments, public or private not-for-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, state offices and agencies, units of local governments, and Indian Tribal governments.
