On Friday night there will be a smaller version of our normal outdoor celebration at Big Cottonwood Park. We will have activities, food trucks and Venture Out will be showing a family movie starting at 9 p.m.

On Saturday our full celebration will start at 10 a.m. with performances by refugees, volleyball and soccer tournaments, food trucks, a global market, kids' activities, citizenship highlights and opportunities to serve refugees.

Food Trucks and booths

Come hungry, because there will be seven different food vendors that are a part of the International Rescue Committee's Spice Kitchen Incubator program. Come taste the different flavors the world has to offer and support refugees working towards establishing their own business.

Outdoor Movie and kids activities

This event is a family event, so bring the kids to enjoy a fun night with the family. Venture Out will be showing a family movie and have kids activities.

Vaccine Clinic

There will be a vaccine clinic hosted by the Salt Lake County Health Department at the World Refugee Day event. Anyone wishing to get the COVID-19 vaccine or boosters can do so during the clinic. Parents wishing to get annual school vaccines for their children may do so with a valid insurance card. If you would like to make an appointment you may call (385)-468-SHOT (7468) or visit
