Career Ladder Credit for Professional Development

Father reading to baby

Utah early childhood professionals can earn Career Ladder credit for all sorts of professional development. The Office of Child Care keeps a list of all the courses and trainings that can be taken for Career Ladder credit. The Course Catalog can be found at https://jobs.utah.gov/jsp/cac/catalog.

Utah Early Childhood Professionals

If you would like to receive Career Ladder credit for a professional development course or training, check the Course Catalog to see if it has already been approved. If it has, you may enroll and participate in the course and upload your Certificate of Completion to your Care About Childcare profile to receive credit. For more information about this process, see the step-by-step video found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt17TRRFzeE.

If the training is not included in the Course Catalog, reach out to your local Care About Childcare agency or the Utah Registry for Professional Development before you begin the training to inquire about the training being added to the Course Catalog.

If you have a question about a specific professional development training or opportunity, please contact your local Care About Childcare agency or the Utah Registry for Professional Development.

Curriculum Developers and Professional Development Providers

Training courses must be approved by The Office of Child Care before Career Ladder credit may be offered, awarded, or advertised. Applications for approval must be submitted at least one month before the training occurs. Anyone may submit a professional development training for review through the process described below. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact the Office of Child Care Professional Development Specialist Hillary Christensen at hachristensen@utah.gov.
